Disclaimer: This letter is not politically inspired or
biased to any political party of the country. It rather focuses on our duty as
a citizen of this country to vote for the right candidate. We, being the voters
are solely and fully responsible for what is happening in the country at
present in the name of religion and politics. Therefore, this election season,
we must resolve to find the solution to all the problems that this country
face. WE MUST NOT FORGET the PREAMBLE THAT HAS ITS FIRST WORDS AS “We, the
people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India”
It is this constitution that WE constituted, gives us the
duty to elect a right candidate for our local area, who are called as Member of
Parliament on being elected because none except the local residents have the
better ability to decide about their local representatives. Since long we have been voting for the
political party rather than a true, honest candidate which has led to the
present war and choice of Modi VS Rahul. As according to a proverb in Hindi “
Ek Machli poore Talab ko ganda kar deti h” , just one fish is enough to pollute
the whole pond. Are we examining and
quality testing each fish (candidates of our area) that can be potentially a
part of the pond (our parliament) or are we letting any fish in, looking at their
brand name? The day of clear-cut and historic majority in the Lok Sabha
elections of India-2014 won with 282/543 seats by BJP with their slogan of
#AchheDin, eventually transforming to this day of 2019 with the slogan
#AchheDinKabAyenge? should be enough for us to assess the candidate, we vote
for.
I once watched a video of Rs21000 burger being served at a
5-star hotel. Each ingredient plays an equally significant role and is handpicked
to create an experience for a connoisseur of the burger. Each component from the
spices, burger-bun, mayonnaise, dressing, burger-patty to vegetables, is not
only peculiarly selected from the variety available but excessive attention is
provided in detailing and the presentation that earns that burger a place in
the special menu of the hotel, exclusively for gourmet, worth 21K bucks.
Nevertheless, it is a burger. But what about the parliament
that has to serve the whole country for the coming five years? Do we only choose
single ingredient cautiously and ignore the rest completely? Our constitution
has entrusted us to choose each member of parliament who, in turn, will choose
their leader. Why not focus on the candidate of our constituency this election,
rather than thinking about who their leader would be? We should have faith in
our own choices(candidates) who are entitled to select their leader who is, later on, called as Prime Minister in this country.
Should we not think twice before calling the Lok Sabha
election as a war between Rahul and Modi. Isn’t it about selecting each member
of parliament; who are 543 members in total? Can we imagine the smooth working
of the parliament with 99% of members selected blindly in the name of the party
they belong to? Next time, when we read in print media or watch on TV or social
media about the only two choices being served to us on our plate, should we not
question the credibility of the source serving us the meal?
